BACKGROUND
I have an extremely broad and unique background with very successful long term experience in engineering, business development and management, people management, sales, marketing, and IT. While building a business for 20 years with 3 separate satellite locations and an accompanying financing organization, I have amassed very highly honed business management and business development skills. This experience includes direct personnel management, marketing, customer service, sales, and recruiting. It also encompasses technical areas including computer networking and IT, chemical engineering, and process engineering.
AVAILABILITY FOR SAILING AND MARINE RELATED SITUATIONS
Having owned boats for 45 years, I am an accomplished blue water sailor with over 30 years and more than 35,000 miles of ocean experience including both Atlantic and Pacific ocean crossings. I have assisted several yachts with their coastal cruises and first time ocean crossings.
I am available to assist other yachts with any type of cruising expedition and am also available to help other companies with their sailing related trade. I don't charge a fee for cruising assistance, but I do ask that the owner cover all boat costs including food and fuel for the boat while I am onboard. More info can be found on my complete Sailing Resume.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Retired
June, 2000 thru current
Supported the Sailing, FlyFishing, Traveling, and Diving Industries
Taking a couple of years off from my career was more enjoyable than I had originally anticipated. It has turned into 21 years. I am fortunate to have experienced many new things while traveling, sailing, fly fishing, and scuba diving. I have fished for trout in the Polar Bear Park near Hudson Bay, rode into the Great Tetons Wilderness on horseback to camp/flyfish for rainbow trout. I have fished for bonefish, tarpon, and permit and assisted fishing clients on almost all the saltwater flats on Andros Island in the Bahamas. I have also assisted a friend who owns a fishing lodge there by working with clients to improve their skills and experiences.
I was able to visit and dive many of the Caribbean Isles, travel by boat to undeveloped regions up the Sepik River in Papua New Guinea, and sail and dive on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and the Philippines. I have also helped new cruisers with my blue water sailing experience. In 2009, I spent most of the year in Brazil, Argentina, and Surinam, South America, including 2 months in Rio while attending Carnival.
I am proud to have taught the first female Bahamian guide on Andros Island in the Bahamas the techniques of guiding: how to work with fishing clients and how to cast a flyrod.

It includes recruiting, training, managing, and motivating people to become a unified results oriented team, building momentum and excitement in a business, and strict financial management. Utilizing programming and general technical skills, I designed, programmed and implemented relational database systems and built local area networks to increase the effectiveness of the operation.

February, 1972 thru December, 1982
Fiber Reinforced Plastics/Petro-Chemical Industry
My experience with OCF included Process Engineering and Technical Sales of Glass fibers and polyester resins to the fiber reinforced plastic automotive molding industry.
This was my initial career after graduating from Clemson University in 1971. I started as a Process Engineer in the glass fiber manufacturing facilities. I later moved into the Polyester Resins Marketing Division as Technical Sales Supervisor. As part of a small unified team, we took this Division from being one of the poorest financial performers to one of the most profitable divisions in the company. This was accomplished by the conversion of several large automotive molding accounts(Ford, GTR, Buick, Oldsmobile, and Chevrolet) to Owens Corning produced glass fiber and polyester resin products. Conversions such as this involve many production trials, production scale ups, and a variety of people from different disciplines in each of the companies. I was the lead onsite technical person and was in charge of the conversion from the product leaving R&D, through scale up, and into full production.
Key Skills developed and used while with OCF are: Process Engineering, Technical Sales, Customer Service, Product Launch, Product Development, Team Building, Key Account Management
